SG&R’s Environment portfolio has delivered innovative, locally driven, evidence-based solutions in local and institutional capacity building in natural resource governance and environmental policy, countering wildlife and environmental crime, forest and protected area management, sustainable landscapes, climate change and resilience, livelihood development, and economic growth. 

Project Description 

End Wildlife Crime is a five-year activity that builds upon the successes of prior USAID/RDMA CWT activities, notably the USAID Wildlife Asia Activity and the USAID Reducing Demand for Wildlife Activity. To combat the ongoing demand for wildlife parts and products, the EWC activity will build and expand upon this work by taking a whole of society approach. The activity will encourage all people, including young people, women, Indigenous communities, faith-based groups and environmental organizations, to join efforts in protecting wildlife and expands the role of civil society to become active participants in the fight against illegal wildlife trade. 

Position Description 

RTI is seeking aOffice Assistant for the USAID End Wildlife Crime Activity. The Office Assistant will provide a wide range of administrative support to the project. 

This position will report to the Senior Finance and Administration Manager and will be based in Bangkok, Thailand.  

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the office receptionist: answer the door and phones, greet guests. 
  • Organize internal meetings, reserve conference rooms and phone lines as needed. 
  • Organize external meetings, conferences, and other special events as required. 
  • Help coordinate IT support. 
  • Coordinate office needs such as supply orders, maintenance requests, shipping/mailings; manage vendor deliveries to the office 
  • Support administrative contacts of programs. 
  • Tasks may include tracking project staff travel; coordinating travel concurrences, assisting with new hire mobilization to the field; project files management. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.    

Qualifications

  • 1 year of work experience required.  
  • Experience working for international organizations preferred. 
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and be detail and deadline oriented. 
  • Must be a self-starter, takes initiative, energetic. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills. 
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure. Must be proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism.  
  • Demonstrated strong computer/IT skills required, experience with Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Fluency in English and Thai required.  
  • Ability to work throughout Thailand.
